The Marshall Memo is designed to keep principals, superintendents, and all administrative leaders very well informed on current research and best practices in the field.

It is an indispensable leadership tool. Many memo readers share selected articles with colleagues. A memo saves you precious time by reading everything you would if you could in giving you a brief, intelligent and lively distillation of all you need to know about everything that matters. It is accumulated from the best national education leadership publications.

In addition to receiving a new Marshall Memo each week, JCAA members have access to the more than 6,000 article summaries accumulated since 2004.

Each JCAA member will receive a year-long subscription to THE MAIN IDEA which not only includes these monthly book summaries, but it also includes free access to over 140 book summaries and workshops in The MAIN IDEA’s archives.

THE MAIN IDEA creates an 8-page summary of a current education book each month. This summary contains the core ideas of the book, and organizes those ideas with enough accompanying details and examples, so you can have a working knowledge of its content. At the end, THE MAIN IDEA includes a full page of suggestions for ways to use the ideas in the book for professional development of your staff.

JCAA offers various opportunities each year which are designed to meet the unique needs of one or more work groups— both school, support, and central-based. Choose from a wide array of opportunities planned in conjunction with district leadership including personal development workshops. Instructors are district employees and local consultants who are experts in their field.

JCAA hosts complimentary or special member rate socials throughout the school year. Where you can enjoy networking with your colleagues in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Collegial Conversation groups are organized by level and meet to discuss specific topics of concern to administrators in carrying out their duties—not only nuts and bolts responsibilities, but also leadership and management issues intended to help you gain a greater understanding of the district’s organizational systems. You are encouraged to actively participate.

The pictorial directory links pictures to names and gives you contact information sorted by name and area. JCAA members receive a complimentary copy each school year.

JCAA provides photo ID’s to all Jeffco administrators free of charge.

All Jeffco administrators will receive weekly news briefs and information via your e-mail address. Reading these news briefs is one of the best ways to know what’s going on in the district and JCAA.

JCAA awards two scholarships to a graduating child or grandchild of a JCAA general or emeritus member. The first place scholarship award is $5,000 and the runner-up scholarship award is $2,500. The JCAA scholarship provides an opportunity to recognize the achievements of our colleagues’ children and to demonstrate our commitments to the future through continuing education.
